Terms of service
The agreement between you and Deep Node Studios for using Alcoven.
In short
- Alcoven is provided by Deep Node Studios Yazılım ve Teknoloji Limited Şirketi, in İstanbul. By using it, you agree to these terms.
- What you put in a project stays yours. We use it only to run Alcoven for you, and we don’t train models on it.
- Paddle sells the paid plans as our merchant of record: it takes the payment, charges the tax and sends the invoices.
- Cancel any time, and the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. You can have a full refund within 14 days of any payment.
- What an AI writes can be wrong. A person on the team decides what the project relies on.
- On every plan, you can clone a project with git and take it with you.
This summary helps you read. The numbered sections below are the terms.
1. Who we are
Alcoven is provided by DEEP NODE STUDİOS YAZILIM VE TEKNOLOJİ LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ (also written without the Turkish letters İ and Ş: DEEP NODE STUDIOS YAZILIM VE TEKNOLOJI LIMITED SIRKETI), FENERBAHÇE MAH. İĞRİP SK. NO: 13 İÇ KAPI NO: 1, KADIKÖY / İSTANBUL, Türkiye (“Deep Node Studios”, “we”, “us”). Alcoven means the website at alcoven.co, the app at app.alcoven.co, and the git and MCP access that comes with every project.
These terms are a contract between you and us. When you buy a paid plan, you buy it from Paddle, which resells Alcoven for us (section 6). You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Accepting these terms
You accept these terms when you create an account or use Alcoven, and they apply for as long as you use it. If you don’t accept them, please don’t use Alcoven.
If you use Alcoven for a company or another legal entity, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it, and “you” then means both you and that entity.
Alcoven is for people aged 16 or over.
3. What Alcoven is
Alcoven keeps a project in one place: its brief, its documents in folders, its tasks, the people and agents on it, and its history with every past version.
- Members. People and agents join a project as members. Each member can read, write or manage it, as the people who manage the project decide.
- Three ways in. You can work on a project in the app; in a folder, with git, from Claude Code, Codex or any coding agent; or from an AI app that speaks MCP, such as Claude. Every change is recorded with who made it, when and from where.
- The agent in the app. It reads the project and can search the web. It proposes changes to documents, which reach the project only when a person puts them on record, and it adds tasks, notes and research reports when you ask it to. Agents also propose owners and dates for tasks, and a person accepts them.
- Teams. Every project belongs to a team. The team holds the plan, the seats and the budgets for agent use, and its owners and admins look after them.
We keep building Alcoven, so features are added, changed and sometimes removed. We will tell a team before we remove something its paid plan includes.
4. Your account
You sign up with your name, your email address and a password, and confirm the address with a code we email you. Sign-in runs on Amazon Cognito, a service of Amazon Web Services.
Keep your password and your access tokens (for git and for AI apps) to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what any tool you let in does there. If you think someone else has used your account or a token, remove the token in the app and tell us at once at [email protected].
Give us accurate details and keep your email address current: we send notices about your account and your team there. A person can be on any number of teams and can start one team on the Free plan.
5. Plans and included agent use
Alcoven has three plans, shown in full on the pricing page. Prices are in US dollars. Any tax for your country is shown at checkout, before you pay.
- Free: one active project, up to five people writing, and $1.00 of in-app agent use a month for the team.
- Solo: $8 a month, or $80 a year. One person writing, any number of projects, and $3 of in-app agent use a month.
- Team: $12 per person writing a month, billed yearly. $15 billed monthly. Any number of projects and people writing, and $3 of in-app agent use a month per person writing, shared by the team.
On every plan, readers, clients and agents join free, and working on a project from your own AI over git or MCP costs nothing, because we run no model for it.
Included agent use is counted in US dollars at the model’s list price. It renews on the first day of each calendar month (UTC) and does not carry over. Work the app does for its own upkeep, such as naming conversations, and model calls that fail do not count against it.
When the included use runs out, the agent in the app pauses until the next month. On Solo and Team, an owner, an admin or a person allowed to set budgets can raise the team’s budget. Only then is use above the included amount charged, at the model’s list price plus 10% (section 6). For safety, we also keep a monthly limit on each team’s model costs; to go above it, write to us.
6. Payment through Paddle
Paddle.com is our merchant of record and reseller. When you buy a plan, you buy it from Paddle: Paddle processes the order, takes the payment, charges sales tax or VAT where it applies, and sends the receipts and invoices. Paddle’s buyer terms apply to the purchase. The charge appears on your statement under Paddle’s name.
- Billing. Paid plans are subscriptions, paid in advance for a month or a year. They renew at the end of each period, and keep renewing until they are cancelled.
- Seats. Team is billed for each person writing on the team. Every new paid seat needs a yes from an owner or an admin. A seat added during a period is charged in proportion to the time left in it, and a seat removed leaves a credit for the unused part.
- Use above the included amount. It is charged after the month ends, at the model’s list price plus 10%. On a monthly plan it goes on the next invoice. On a yearly plan it is charged once it reaches $20 at list price, or with the renewal if that is less than 35 days away.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, Paddle tries again. Meanwhile the team keeps its plan, and agent use stops at the included amount. If Paddle cannot collect the payment, the subscription ends and the team moves to Free (section 7).
- Price changes. We may change our prices. A new price applies to a team from its next period after we have told the team, and the team can cancel before then.
7. Cancelling, and moving to Free
An owner or an admin can cancel a paid plan at any time, in the app or through Paddle. The plan stays until the end of the period already paid for, and nothing more is charged after it. Agent use above the included amount that is not yet invoiced when you cancel is not charged.
Then the team is on Free:
- The most recently active project stays active. The other projects are archived: everyone on them can still open, read, clone and download them, and nobody can change them.
- People already writing keep writing. No one new can start writing until the team is below five.
- The agent in the app gets Free’s $1.00 a month.
When the team chooses a paid plan again, the projects archived by the move to Free come back as they were.
8. Refunds
You can have a full refund of any payment within 14 days of it, with no questions asked. The refund policy explains how to ask. Paddle issues refunds, as our merchant of record.
9. Your content
Your content is what you, the people on your team and your agents put into Alcoven: documents, files, tasks, notes and conversations with the agent in the app, including what the agent writes for you.
- It stays yours. As between you and us, your content belongs to you or your team. We claim no ownership of it.
- What you let us do. You give us permission to host, copy, process and show your content only as far as we need to run Alcoven for you: to keep your projects, show them to the people and agents you let in, send what you ask for to a model or a web search, back them up and keep them safe. This permission ends when the content is deleted from our systems.
- What we don’t do with it. We don’t train models on your content, sell it or use it for advertising. We look at it only when you ask us to (for example, for support), when we need to keep Alcoven safe or look into abuse, or when the law requires it.
- Your part. You must have the right to put your content into Alcoven, including anything you upload or give the agent, and it must not break the law or anyone else’s rights.
- Complaints about rights. If you believe content in Alcoven infringes your copyright or other rights, write to [email protected] with the details. We will look into it and may remove the content. We close the accounts of people who infringe other people’s rights repeatedly.
10. What you may not do
Don’t use Alcoven, or its agent, to:
- break the law, or help anyone else break it;
- defraud people or send spam;
- infringe copyright, trademarks or anyone else’s rights;
- spread malware, probe or test Alcoven’s security, scrape it, overload it, or reach data you have no access to;
- copy, resell or rebuild Alcoven, reverse engineer it where the law does not allow it, or get around its plan limits;
- make illegal content, or instructions for committing crimes;
- make sexual content of anyone without their consent, including intimate images and deepfakes, or any sexual content involving a minor;
- make hateful, harassing or threatening content, or incite violence;
- write malware or hacking instructions, steal credentials, or try to get around the safety controls of the agent or the models (jailbreaking);
- publish other people’s personal data without a lawful basis;
- deceive people, including by impersonating someone or misrepresenting where content came from.
If we reasonably believe these rules are being broken, or that Alcoven is being abused, we may remove or restrict content, refuse or filter what the agent writes, limit features, or suspend or close accounts (section 16).
11. What the agent writes
The agent in the app runs on AI models. What it writes can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even when it cites a source. Check it before you rely on it or publish it.
A person on the team stays responsible for what the project relies on. That is why the agent’s changes to documents reach the project only when a person puts them on record, and why agents propose task owners and dates for a person to accept.
Don’t use what the agent writes as legal, medical, financial or other professional advice without review by a qualified person. You are responsible for what you ask the agent and give it, and for how you use what it writes. When it searches the web, the results come from AWS’s web search and from pages on the open web, which we do not check.
12. Your own AI tools
When you open a project from an AI app over MCP, or from a coding agent over git, that tool reads and writes the project for you, with your permissions and under your name. What the tool and its provider do with the content is governed by their own terms. You choose which tools get access, and you can remove a tool’s access or a git token in the app at any time.
13. Our rights in Alcoven
Alcoven’s software, design, documentation and name belong to us or to those who license them to us. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Alcoven under these terms and within your team’s plan. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely and owe you nothing for them.
14. Availability
We work to keep Alcoven running and your projects safe. It may still be unavailable or have errors at times: during maintenance and updates, or because of problems outside our control, such as an outage at one of our providers. We do not promise that Alcoven will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own copy of anything important: clone the project with git.
15. Taking your projects with you, and closing them
On every plan, anyone who can read a project can clone it with git or download it as a folder, with every document, task and past version, and keep that copy.
A person who manages a project can close it. Closing removes the project for everyone on it, and nobody can open it again. Its record stays on our systems until you ask us to delete it: write to [email protected], and we will.
You can also ask us to delete your account. The privacy policy explains what that removes.
16. Suspending and ending access
You can stop using Alcoven at any time. To close your account, write to us.
We may suspend or end your access, or a team’s, if:
- you or the team seriously or repeatedly break these terms;
- a payment is not made;
- there is a risk to security, or a risk of fraud; or
- the law requires it.
Where we can, we tell you first and give you time to put things right and to clone your projects. If we ever stop offering Alcoven, we will tell you in advance, leave time to clone your projects, and refund the unused part of any period you paid for. The parts of these terms that should last after access ends, such as sections 17 and 19, continue to apply.
17. Our promises, and the limits of our liability
We provide Alcoven as it is and as available. As far as the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond those in these terms, including any implied promise that it will suit a particular purpose.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data. Our total liability for all claims about Alcoven in any 12 months is limited to what you paid for Alcoven in those 12 months.
These limits don’t apply where the law does not allow them, for example to liability for intent or gross negligence, or for death or personal injury. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law as a consumer.
If you use Alcoven for a business, you will cover our reasonable losses and costs from claims by others that arise from your content, from your use of Alcoven against the law, or from your breach of these terms.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, war, pandemics, or failures of power, networks or our providers.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We publish each version here with its date. When a change matters to you, we tell you by email or in the app before it applies, unless it must apply at once for legal or security reasons. If you keep using Alcoven after a change applies, you accept the new terms. If you don’t accept them, stop using Alcoven and cancel any paid plan before the change applies.
19. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts of İstanbul settle any dispute about them. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in its courts where those laws allow it.
20. General, and how to reach us
If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term at once, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, an acquisition or a reorganisation, and we will tell you if we do.
These terms, the privacy policy and the refund policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Alcoven. Paddle’s buyer terms cover your purchases.
